Experiments in Parenting (by )

We've been trying to implement a regime of cloth nappies, since they're a bit more comfortable (less tight elastic bits) and a lot cheaper than disposable nappies.

However, we have yet to find a way of tying them without making the poor girl look a bit silly:

Speaking of looking silly, why do babies look so odd when being winded?

My big recommendation for cloth nappy users (and their parents): http://snappibaby.com/

Damn, now this looks like a spam comment. Anyway, far easier to use than pins - don't know where to get them in the UK though.

Here's what she needs! Doesn't look silly at all, no, not a bit, and follows the duck theme nicely me thinks 😉

PS, if Sarah's producing Malibu, that might be a hint as to why Jean looks funny when being winded 😉

Nora's always used "Tots Bots" nappies, which do have elastic but it's nevr been a problem - and boy do they hold everything in 🙂 Tots Bots have an online shop.

In fact we used a nappy laundry for about a month but their nappies jusrt blurted all over - ech. At least it's still at the "yoghurty" phase!

Also - this is a really good tip, because we've tried loads of different over-wraps the ones you get from the Natural Collection online have a double gusset round the legs - they keep everything in except in extremis.

We actually use the OMO eco-disposables for overnights because they keep Nora's bum drier and I've met other greeny parents who do the same. Again, we buy these in bulk from The Natural Collection in boxes of 3 packs. That way, you never run out, and it's way cheaper than in health food shops. Eco-disposables are useful for when you go out / visit parents - lugging around stinky wet nappies in plastic bags is not a bunch of fun.

Well, Sarah's mother is working on producing us some pre-formed cloth nappies with Velcro fastening systems built in, which sounds hopeful!

I will post our results... and if they're got, set up an eCommerce site selling them wholesale 😉
