Broken Camera (by sarah)
Great - just great - just what we need. The cameras broken - in the same way as before but now its out of warrentee and we dont have enough money to fix it and I can't earn some of the money we were releying on now without it.
So once again we are in the hot water etc... etc... man i think this one has to go under the curse again. :'(
Not even sure if I can up the load the photos that are still on the cards without it. And its probably all my fualt as I think I must have left it in reach of Jean or something for the lense to get jammed :'( :'( :'(

If you can get the card out, you can upload the pics from it. I'm sure Al has a card reader somewhere, if not, we do. I doubt Jean could jam the lense, it's probably a seized motor or a worn gear, and even she's not got small enough fingers to do that.
It's a bummer though. If you really need a camera for work, you can borrow mine for a bit.

Alas it's an xd card, which is a rather proprietary standard, so my card reader won't take it, and readers for it are relatively costly.
However, I suspect that the camera may be easily convinced to still be a card reader even with a jammed lens.
The problem with the lens is probably due to it being bashed against something - the lens is telescopic and extends under a motor drive, and it's currently extended but has clearly come adrift of its screw thread, since the final component of the telescope is at a slight angle compared to the axis of the telescope! It seems to have fallen down or been otherwise bashed, causing it to come adrift.
Dodgy design if you ask me.

I'll have to see what the client says - but basically I was supposed to take pictures of staff and mascots and stuff for their website which is the current dilema I have over the broken camera - the wiggly pet webcomic is currently on hold as I need to make more of the main characters as they are getting a bit battered!
