Jazz on the Old School Field (by )

This post is about a week late - but the Blues Brothers Reloaded were good and I even danced with Catarina (apologies for spelling I dont know how to spell it!) and Clair. The band did start about 1 1/2 hr late but then people were tardy turing up due to the disastorous fotball. Which has me and Clair planning the next world cup song.

Poor Clair had desperatly arranged everything so she would be here with plenty of time for kick off when traffic delayed her by several hrs - she just made it in time for us to sort out some way to watch it - then we lost - on penalties as always - she made sure Jean had a thorough sporting education where football is concerned. I dread to think what words Jean might have picked up!

The weather was fantastic!!! So sunny and the sunset was pretty, add in the view from the location and it was fantastic!

The band sounded like they had stuffed up the sound desk but it turned out that all the mid range speakers were out but it wasn't the amplyfier at fualt, nor the leads etc.. it was a complete mistery - Al and Gavan failed to sort it as did the sound engeineers. Still I've heared worse from more professional people at more professional events!

The bands warm ups and sound checks were in my opinion better than the concert but thats only becuase they were playing metallica etc... Mum had a cool hat which I kept pinching - very in with the band it was 🙂

JEan apparently devoured over half a pig roast roll and couldnt get enough of the tomatoe juice I'd brought along - however she did end up covered in the tomatoe juice and Mum had a little accident with her LARGE glass of it! Its a bit scary to see your 10 month old duaghter covered in red ozzy stuff when you dont know the tomato juice has even been opened!.

My poor Brother and Michelle (his girly) their train ran late so they mossed a connection - blah blah blah - you know the normal story and they arrived just when the concert was supposed to be finnishing but becuase it was all running really late they actually arrived in the intermission!

Anyway I think everyone enjoyed it 🙂

p.s. I forgot to mention that Al and Gavan set fire to my citranella bucket 🙁 They made paper wicks and created an inferno - poor bucket - thier excuss - we were trying to uncover the wick! I had told them they could us a match as a wick as the real wick had been swamped in wax - but no! They got carried away and now the handle etc.. is black 🙁 I love fire but not if it ruins my buckets 🙁

Photos added (by )

We have now put the photos up in the posts Kittens, Toad, and Shrew.

They are cute - go look!

Kittens (by )

We have KITTENS!!!!!

Two little black and whites - called Hydrogen and Helium 🙂 Hydrogen has one black leg with a little white soc where as Helium has two white front legs 🙂 So they fit their names quiet well 🙂

Last night I ended up buried in kittens that after being stroked to carmthem down decided that my shoulder was the place to be 🙂

They are pouncing everything, including my hand I stupidly dangled!

They are 10 weeks old and were part of a litter of four - they are pretty inseperable so everyone was glade thaat we wanted both to keep each other company. Hydrogen instantly went for an explore when we got them home but Helium is shy and very scared of Jean who atempts to get the 'cuddles' and when denied this through her toys at them!

Things are starting to come together now 🙂 Now all we need isx a few more cats - some ducks and bees..... 🙂 🙂 🙂

Sunburn!? (by )

Ok the day before the thunder started well actually it was the day the thunder started! I was sitting in a park with David (my bro), Micheal (his girly), Al and Jean - I was wearing factor 25 and was in the shade - I burnt 🙁 No one else did - including Jean who was only in a nappy (mind due she had factor 40 on!).

I didnt burn in Greece or Spain or Kenya but in England - I burn! Whilst sitting in the flippinf shade (Makes annoyed looking faces)

Mr Toad of Suttons Mill (by )

A toad about 10cm in length was lerking on the step of the Mill so I cuaght it (gently in a well practiced have to relocate wildlife at Thirftwood in an ecologically sound manor) and then released it with the wiggly pets and camera. The photos arent as good as the shrew ones as a) it was dark so could not use the mode for lots of consecutive frames for animal and children photography and b) the thing hoped in the wrong direction - still the are passable photos 🙂

Now all I have to do is think up a sutiable storyline to go with the pics for the webcomic!

Good job I like wildlife living here 🙂
