I am sad - I broke a teapot - it was clean - so double tragedy 🙁
My own fault I cant reach up to the teapot shelf and I was too dizzy to risk climbing on the chair - so I put it on a low table to await Al - then I knocked over my maglite as I walked away - it came down on the teapot and both ended on the floor with a sound as tinkle shatter :'(

I love my teapots - yes sad I know but I collect them - fortunatly this was not one of the 'special' ones i.e. not one of the ones my nans gave me and not the house, rabbit or cat shaped ones, nore our snuggling geeses one.
I am still sad though - it was handy for my morning mint tea I have to stop me feeling sick. Sigh sigh sigh 🙁

Yes they are cute but they are in the bad books and no mistake!
We had been slowely training them to go a loo outside - we thought we were almost there but alas no! It turns out that the reason they were using the litter tray less and less was that they were in fact messing in the stable and Babara was cleaning it up so we didnt have a clue until she came round and said she was fed up with cleaning it up 🙁
So now they have a litter tray full of mole earth which we hope to slowely migrate away from the house - sigh!
House Guests who shall remain nameless are in big big disgrace!!!
Me and Al had to go into London today and said guests werent leaving until later so up I got this morning and dug out the trangias - as there wasnt going to be any electricity and one is a tea feind! And put out stuff for breakfast for them. I also left a note pointing to various items and listing certain things.
a) Brekki
b) Guest book for signing
c) Trangias and location of the matches
d) Keys for house and instructions on what to do with them once they had locked the house
e) Make sure the kittens are out of the house
We return to find - well
1) the front door is unlocked with my laptop sitting on the setee
2) the book isnt signed - no big deal
3) a match is found on the floor
4) two kittens scamper out of the house as soon as the door is opened - there is a delicate whiff of cat egg in the air - then to mine and Als horror we find a puddle of kitten wee on Jeans little blue bouncy chair - including the toy arch that was laying on the seat instead of in its normal 'arch' position over the seat!
We are now finding out if said seat cover can survive a boil wash and weather the toy arch will survive being soaked in boiling water with detergant and then disinfectent >:( We need to hose the metal frame too and as it is a vibrating one we are hoping we dont fry the electrics! We may have just lost this lovely little bouncing seat becuase of this - plus we only shapood the carpet a week ago 🙁
We are currently training the kittens to go a loo outside - therefore there is no litter tray inside and the kittens are turffed when we go out or go to bed - know it wasnt their fualt they messed in the house this time - but we have been struggling with this concept with them anyway and now all our hard work is probably for nothing - as this event will have reawakened the fact that they can go a loo in the house 🙁
On top of this - we have used all the 'free' carpet shampoo and are waiting for the stuff I ordered yesturday to arrive - so its going to be awhile before Jean can go crawling around down stairs again >:(
Not happy.
Ok rant/moan over.
Some of our favourite sandwitches - thought it would be unfair not to share!
1) Fruity stilton rolls
* sesame seed roll preferably the long 'finger' kind - crusty naturally.
* roasted mediteranian vegetable humous
* mango chutney
* blue stilton cheese
Put spreed/butter on bread to taste.
Then generously smear the humous on.
Cut thickish slices of stilton - careful too thin and it crumbles! But beware stilton is a strong cheese! Probably best if you just put chunks on do not cover the entire surface.
Then drizzel mango chutney - the runnier the better over the top.
Options are do you have it as an open sani or as a closed roll? Its up to you
2) Avocado and Walnut Sandwitch
* Bread of your choice.
* Walnuts - preferable fresh
* Avacardo (1/2 per person/sandwitch on average) - quiet wripe ones are best.
* Salad cream
De-shell the walnuts and brake up into reasonable chunks.
Spread/butter to taste.
Peel, pitt and slice avacado and place on bread.
Place walnuts on top and drizzel salad cream over.
Best as a closed sandwitch!
3) Toasted Cheese Heavan
For this you will need a flat bed toater - ie two hot plates that you close on the sandwitch - not the 'shell' patterned traditional sandwitch toaster. Flat bed toasters are the kind used for paninis.
- Sliced square bread - bog standard loaf kind. Brown/white/whole meal you choose.
- Hard goat's cheese - looks like a pale chedder.
- Black olives - pre sliced ones will save you alot of work though they go off quicker!
- Red Onions chopped into 'strips'.
- Sweet corn
Put spread or butter on bread to taste.
Cut thin slices of cheese and arange on bread.
Put on the onion, olive slices and sweet corn.
Put other slice of bread on top - make sure the spread/butter sides of the bread are inside the sandwitch and not on the outside as with traditional toasties.
Put in toaster until ready (this will depend on the toaster some experimentation maybe needed.).
4) Bread Pizza
- French stick
- Pasta suace - the more garlicy, oniony and chunky veggy the better
- Sweet corn
- Onion
- Pepper optional
- For meateaters bacon, sausage and salami are also extra toppings!
- Grated chedder/hard goats cheese
- Blue cheese optional
Chop onions, peppers, and any meat things.
Cut french stick into approprait sized pieces - 25 cm long is good.
Slice each section longways to make two pizza bases out of each.
Toast the crust side of the bread.
Spread pasta suace on the non toasted side.
Place topping on.
Sprinkly grated cheese on liberall.
Add a few small chunks of blue cheese to taste.
Grill to perfection - eat making satisfied noises.
5) Olive Pannini Yummyness
Get/make paninnis with black olives inbedded in it - again this recipe calls for a flate bed toaster!
- Walnuts - broken up preferally fresh
- Brie or stilton depending on taste
- Avacardos if you Alaric - sliceds
Make the dam paninni and put in toaster!
Eat!
Well after you've taken it out of the toaster of course!
6) Cheese sarni ideas!
- Chedder and sliced apples
- Chedder and spiced pear jelly
- Chedder and cranberry jelly
- Chedder and picallily
- Chedder and apple sauce
- Chedder and silton
- Chedder, lettice, and salad cream
- Replace the chedder with red lesture, cream cheese or cottage cheese.
- Wensledale and cranberry cheese with apple sauce in crusty rolls
- Mexician cheese with lemon corriander and humous
Once I lamented that I don't like carpets because I'm always trying to clean liquids out of them, while knowing that I'll never truly succeed.
Well, with a lingering smell of kitten urine in the lounge becoming a bit too much to bear, and Jean tired of being stuck in her playpen rather than being allowed to crawl free, we went out Thursday morning and splashed out on:
