This pictures are now more than a year old! Wow time really cos quickly when your not looking doesnt it?

Jean and the kittens had a strange relationship in that they would allow her to man handle them when food was involved and she would drop her food off the edge of the high chair inorder to attract them. I took this photo whilst telling both the subjects that they where naughty - the kitten for jumping up onto a 'table' which by this point it knew it wasnt allowed to do and Jean for purposly throwing her food to attract cats etc...

I had to take the obligatory photo of the baby having a bath in the sink - I found the sink far easier to use that then the baby bath and this was the case right up until the flooding. Being a cruel and heartless mother I just had to spike her hair with the shampoo foam and turn her into a little imp - still she really loved it 🙂 (though thats not this picture even though I know I definatly took one with the spike - oh well)

The work men have been sorting out the water falls tunnel which they have been putting metal joist things in to keep it from collapsing. The two guys doing the waterfall look remarkably like they belong in either the RSM or the caving club or as is often the case both!

I asked them if I could come down and take photos - they put a step ladder in the dry water fall for me but I didn't realise (yes I know its a large thing not too notice but then this is me) and clambered down the actual waterfall - when I say dry I mean that there isn't the normal cascade of water flowing down it however most people would consider it actually quiet damp still.

Here are my photos of the tunnel.

The tunnel is at least 400 yrs old and is basically dry stone walls with stone slabs on the top - one of these ceiling stones appears to be a urinal - or so I am informed and is probably Roman in age (or though that is quiet along time period in the UK). Most roman sites in the area where canabilised for other local structures so this seems quiet likely. I actually went straight past the slab as it is in the ceiling and even when they first pointed it out to me without saying why the rock was special I got side tracked by calcified worm casts on its side :/
I did however then see that the rock was cut and the interesting funnelly bit i spotted by myself!

I am quiet excited by this as its sort of like having Time Team in my back garden, but it is a bit laughable that the one really old thing we have (thats of human origin before any of you remind me about all the fossils we have in the garden!) just so happens to be something that men relieved themselves on about 2000 yrs ago :/

I had to take a photo of these nobely calcite deposites 🙂 There where also lots of the little coral type growths that I orinial mistook for teeth when I did the work in the anthropology lab in paleo! (I can not spell the word so it is staying abbreviated but its the place with the fossils at the Natural History Mesuem).

Also I just had to take a photo of this being a geologist. The urinal pics where all taken in a cramped space with me having to lay down on my back so apologies if they are wonky angles!
I really really enjoyed this as I got to where my hard hat for the first time since Kin Loc Leven! But it did unfortunatly cause my pelvis to remobalise for three days :/
Jean loved Christmas it was full of wonderous new things - here are pictures of her during the holidays or just after playing with presants - this first one shows that money can't buy happiness as Jean played for hours with a server box that was at the office - she really liked the bit of cardboard that went in the top with foamy bits to protect the server - she thought this was the best thing ever!

The day we were first in Highgate Jean helped me decorate the office - this mainly involved her running around with the tinsel - we made up several games from doing swerly dances with it as if the tinsel were chinese ribbons to making a regal wrap out of it and pretending to be royality, to making a volcano out of it, or simple running her fingers over it saying - Pretty Mummy Pretty!

We have an inflatible reindeer which Jean had the previous Christmass fed with special oats and glitter - here are the photos of this years interactions with it - at first she was a bit scared of it but soon got to the point of trying to jump on the poor things back - something Alaric had to help her with.

Jean adores hats and as a result stole and put on just about any hat she could get hold off - Clare guard your trillbee! She has also taken to calling my Dad Hat Man which is what Alaric calls him as he is always wearing a hat of some kind! She still calls him ferfer too though.

The obsession with planes continues and she now has a giant play mobile plane complete with toliet!

Jean unlike most people likes my christmas clock - Tick toc rouw rouw! Snowman! - and even dances to the five minutes of christmas carols it plays every hour on the hour. She did this with much exclaimations of Pretty Lights Mummy!

Our main presant to her this year was a brightly coloured trike that one of the ladys from my writing class gave me - she loves it though we have had a few issues with her knocking the thing over trying to get on or off of it and traping herself under it as a result! She is also still too little to peddle it her self really. Still she likes putting sticks in its trailer which has made Barbara very happy indeed.

One of Jeans presants was a pink hearts cream tea set which she has proceeded to make people have cups of tea from - her teddy's are the main suffers of this new obsession though I have to confess the 'table cloth' was my idea and is in fact her blanket straight from her cot!

Last night, we went up to Barrow Wake Viewpoint, which looks out over Gloucester from a hill, to see all the fireworks displays (public and private!) going on over the city. Jean loved it, and called them "pretties". There were a lot of families up there - somebody even had a barbecue going...
Then the next morning, the air outside at home smelt crisply of nitrate combustion products 🙂
