Of Easter Eggs and New Hats (by )

Jean was spoilt over Easter by a second Easter egg hunt this time with Barbaras friends grandson joining in the fun though he did decide that Jean could have all the eggs he found as the Easter Bunny had left him so many at home and he wasnt sure he'd be able to eat them all!

Looking for the eggs So close If we sneak up on them! Found One!

Him and Jean had a great time playing with the soft play kit and the scout and cub sports equipment and of course Jeans slide - though there was also an unfortunate incident with Als metal watering can and the cattle grid and a very forlorn and guilty looking child and a large dent - we only heard the crash so still not entirely sure what happened!

Wooow toys! Jeans new hat

Jean likes Minty the dog who was also there at the egg hunt though she does seem to think smeel dogs are sort of strange cats! On the bench climbing off of the bench

Of Easter Bunnies and Helicopters (by )

Over the Easter weekend Alarics Uncle Roderick and his duaghter Philippas visited - they arrived in Rodericks helicopter! Jean must be the only little girl to get shoe deliveries by helicopter! She also now waves and waits expectantly every time she sees a helicopter - planes, helicopters, cars and vans all get called too-too (her impression of a horn).

helicopter Landed ooooo permission to land Coming in Airy wozzer

Barabara had the idea of doing an Easter egg hunt with her so me and Philippa hide some little chocolate eggs along the wall of the raised flower beds - Jean adored this though didnt realise the eggs were food!

Whilst Roderick took Barabara up for a tour of the villiage by air we made yummy mexician ffood which we fed to the unfortunate Phillippa who had spewed breakfast on the flight over. We also got to watch Jean enloy her new Weeee!

Clearing the dead stuff (by )

End of April and the beginning of May we discovered is the time to clear out all those dead plants and things that sit there in the flower beds dwarfing the flowers that they were last year.

Al clearingCutting down the dead stuff

You snap the dead stuff off which is really easy most of the time and then its bomfire time which as pyros is fun 🙂

New Turf Path (by )

Over six week ago now we cleared our veggi plot and split it in half with a turf path - mainly becuase I couldnt reach things easily to water/weed them - the trueth is I still struggle slightly with this but the path has made things alot easier. Here are some photos of the process - complete with Jean 'helping' 🙂

I am helping! Looks to much like hard work to me Yay! Digging the plot I am the MAN Mysterious pose To the compost

Hernia (by )

I thought I kept pulling the same muscle, a little lump would appear in my stomache just under the rib cage but then dissappear again so I thought it was getting better and was just a waek muscle.

It hurts in a dull aching sort of way so wasn't really urgent or anything but Alaric started to get concerned that it was a hernia - I laughed - nah their in the groin it's just a pulled muscle.

Mum and dad came to stay and Dad having had a Hernia was comissioned to prode my stomache - his conclussion - feels like one to me go to the Dr and stop picking up Jean.

Thinking them all over reacting but fearing they weren't I made an appointment along with one for Jeans toa nials.

The result - its probably a rare type of hernia that occures between the two rows of muscle and its lickly to be a bit of my intesting thats poking threw 🙁 hence other issues I've been having.

So now its make an appointment for a scan just incase its something else or things are more complexe or something and then surgery.

Apparently its all going to happen in the next two months (I've heard that before but this is a different part of the country so things may well be different here).

The Dr tells me that ideally I'm not to lift or move anything heavey including children then looks at Jean who is going, 'Mummy mummy, mil, mil.' whislt stretching out her little arms to be picked up and points out that in actuallity thats not going to happen is it?

I nod and he tells me that in that case if it suddenly gets really painful go to hospital and if I * cough * suddenly have bowl issues of a server nature then to do the same.

As you can imagin I am not happy about this, I left him making notes on his dictorphone about the 26 yr old woman with a lump in the something or other.

I'm horrified with the new restrictions on me - no moving furniture, the luandary is iffy too as is alot of shopping and as for the sewing machine and the preserving pan.... and as for putting the rubbish out and gardening...

It somehow seems increadibly unfair and ontop of that Jean needs picking up you can't avoid that 🙁

Oh well the good news is that her toe nials which have been a bit well wiered since she was born are not infected but one of them is indanger of becoming so. The dr gave me a prescription and showed me how to clean her toes to try and deal with them myself. If they do start getting infected it will be chop chop for poor little Jeans nails but he seemed optomistic that just leaving them would do the trick - I was doing the right thing in not cutting them even though they are all flakey and odd shapes and cutting into the flesh on her toes.

The more walking she does the better they should become as well which is good news 🙂
