Jean and cats (by sarah)
Every where Jean goes she seems to find cats! 🙂
She loved it when we visisted Charlee and Andy on route from Essex back to Gloucestershire.

This year - as for the previous two - we went to the Masked Ball in Oxford. I just about squeezed back into the outfit I wore the first year - which as it was made big as I was pregnant if not very, was about the only outfit that currently fits - everything else being either to big or two small! There was however a lot of 'shoe horning' me into the corset and it took three people to do it up!
Here are my pictures of the event!
However for descent pictures of the event I suggest you look at Carina's photos!
A few weeks ago we helped Barbara with a 'bonfire' these are regular occurances and are designed to get rid of the stuff thats too smokey to burn on the fire and too woody to compost. It was a very smokey affair.
I wanted to get a photo of Barbara jumping up and down on top of the fire to 'get it going' but alas she was too quick and by the time I'd got the camera she had climbed down again!
Mum is now on antibiotics incase the lump in her breast is a cyst gone scuzzy but has been advised to stop her HRT and is awaiting a mammogram 🙁
Well I've been doing the Spring cleaning and was horrified when I decided to clean down the shelves in the larder cupboard. I went to lift the little stacking can shelves unit only to discover that it was horbouring somehting so foul and disgusting that I gagged.
The unit appeared to be glued to the shelf, I prized it off with a disturbing sucking noise. A foul stench assulted my nose and brown gloop went glop!
Some how, dont ask me how! Insects of verious types seemed to have drown in condesation in the cavity space underneith the unit. How they got in there I do not know as there didnt seem to be any residences in there whilst I was cleaning (as in live ones). It wasnt just one type of insect either (ok look I'm a scientist I looked and prodded ok) - how they got under there I do not know.
They had superated and fermented and turned - well ickky!
It was disturbing and resulted in me going for a bit of over kill in cleaning the cupboard including throwing away open packets of things - this was a bit silly as there hadnt been a smell or anything until I broke the surface tension that had sealed the unit onto the shelf. I then washed the entire cupboard and disinfected it etc...
It was Mank of the highest kind.
