Babies Room (by )

Yesturday me and Al put in hooks to hang Jeans alpherabet fairy lights along the main bean in her room! They look so cool especially as we fitted the whole alphabet on one side!

We also put up the irredescent, purple, butterfly bead curtain in her window - this was the curtain we had at the top of the stairs in the Essex flat - of course we had to trim the bottom but it looks really cool. We also put up her Trum (erm something like that German for dream or something?) Spiral which is rainbow coloured and twists round - she loves it. Whilst we were at it we also put up the plastic irredescant spirals that Clair (The one with funky nails) got me last year for my birthday - they too are in Jeans window along with the Taz that Mark, Simon and Fraser (the Physicists) won me at a Summer Ball at IC 🙂

Oh and last but not least we put up on of those tuby net things - like lots of compartments that hand down from the ceiling - into which we have been stuffing her cuddlies!

Her room is almost there now - we are quite proud of ourselves 🙂

I need to restore coolness to my life (by )

Once upon a time, I worked for Internet Vision. I started as a programmer, then towards the end of my time there, I was their chief technical architect also looked after the internal library (which I found incredibly satisfying). The technical architect thing meant I was involved in nearly every project, working on the design of the software and troubleshooting problems that the developers hit as they coded.

Yummy Carrot Cake! (by )

Me and Al are currently finishing off the yummy carrot cake his Aunt and Uncle bought us last weekend along with my favourite - duck eggs! 🙂 It was a real treat having them visit - I say weekend but they arrived late Sunday due to some missadventure on Roderick's part involving the Isle of Wight and a Spitefire!

As well as them there was Helens Mother Beatrice who was lovely and on an extended visit to this country - If I can get a hold of a copy of the pictures I will post them! Helen looked really cool with Jean in an Africian style baby bum carrier (dont know the correct term!) made of our Rainbow blanket - Jean loved it.

I also managed my first dinner party for six plus baby - with Als help naturally 🙂

For started we did nachos with home made guacamole and salsa etc... For the main we had filo passels that we constructed out of feta and home grown spinache with a wild leaf salad of mine and Als own devising, then a pasta salad and some mederterian veg, potatoe salad and calsaw made their way to the table as well (didnt make these as they take for ever - especially the calsaw). For dessert we had brandy snap baskets (again I had to buy these as didnt have time to make them) filled with red berrys of various sorts coverred in a berry icecream (I'd run out of home made icecream as well so felt guilty it was shop bought!) covered in hedgerow source which I made in the autum.

Hmmm woundering weather we should have a category labeled recipes on here - if anyones interested let me know (Charlee).

Anyway it was much fun especially as the old box speakers of mums and dads found a temperary home with the bodging repair of Babaras sound system!

Rabbit Pajarmers! (by )

Today I went into the stable to do the laundary to find that Tim had left me a presant right in frount of the washing machine. This presant was a pair of rabbit PJ's Tim being the fat feline he is must have eaten the rest - I scooped it up with a trowl and deposited it outside. He'll be peed off with me but then he's a cat and I dont want rabbit entrials on my clean washing!

Poorly baby! (by )

Poor Jean - she's had a snuffly nose for a few days, and has been generally unhappy about it and hard to get to sleep at night. She's been spending lots of nights in with us.

However, today, while I was away in Bournemouth, she started projectile vomiting, so Sarah took her in to the doctor, who said she had some kind of virus. She has to go in again tomorrow to see how she's doing, and in the meantime is on high dosages of Calpol.

I will probably postpone my visit to London tomorrow, because it's been pretty hard on Sarah looking after a very grumpy baby on her own 🙁
