Out of Action (by )

I've been puking and the other and its not fun, feeling freezing cold when Al asures me its warm and then feeling the shards of glass twisting in my gut. I start to feel better and try to get out of bed only to go dizzy with a head that feels twenty times as heavy as it is and a tingling all over - suddenly hot and disorientated.

What I feel slighly guilty about though is that I have finially got my hands on the Harry Potter book and resent having to stop reading for the next wave of cramps - boiling hungry eats at my insides but unfortunatly its no food at the mo as I just spew it all back up again - sigh.

poor Alaric is now attempting to work on his clever rig of internet and generator etc... with the thought that he is now on his own with trying to clear downstairs - I mean I know I couldnt do any of the heavy lifting anyway but at least I could do the small things like clearing off cabinates - now I can't even do that.

Plus he has now lost quiet a bit of work time.

Oh well I suppose I'll just have to continue ready - I swear the woman arranges for these books to come out when I'm sick!

Harry Potter Sorrow (by )

This was written offline on Monday:

Well as I had to be 'rescued' from Cheltenham on Friday I obviously do not yet have the book that I have been waiting for - for an age Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. This is really really frustrating me!

Ontop of that I have started to feel really ill - stomache variety - apparently our tap water is a)contaminated and b)about to run out and there are riots at Asda and things over the bottled water which sounds really scary.

We are going to try and get some food in as obviously all the food in the fridge and freezers is lost not becuase we don't have any electricity as we have a generator but becuase the appliences themselves got wet and are therefore not safe to plug in.

I am hoping that I can finially pick up a copy of Harry Potter whilst out!

More flood updates (by )

Firstly, Sarah's fallen ill too. Throwing up lots. We took her to the doctors who said that hopefully it'd pass in a day or so, and to get in touch if it didn't, or if it got worse.

Secondly, the good news, the insurance people will happily replace all the damaged stuff from downstairs, and gave us £200 up front to cover short-term emergency living expenses!

Crickly Country Park (by )

Ages ago now - about six weeks or so my perants came up for the weekend and we went for a day outing at Crickly Country Park - there is geology, archeology and lots of wildlife there so it was lots of fun. I was also impressed with the visitors centre! though it needs a little cafe/shop thing really and the loos were a bit - hmmmm.

The Hill Daddy and Jean I'm off to explore!

Jean loves collecting rocks!

I have a rock! Too tired I just might escape this time

Alaric decided he'd roll down the hill I can't remember why - this was on the back were the old Roman Hill Fort used to be.

Trekking Almost there!

Dad spent alot of time drawing cats and the like and reading all the notices - he was especially enamerred with the fossils and models at the visitors centre.

Jean became jellous of other children she found as they had hats and she didnt - this was how she ended up wearing Alarics fold-up hat!

I kept trying to photograph this poor creature but everytime it felt safe enough to venture out some one with a dog or small child would come walking through and scare it away again - hence no good pics!

Attempted wildlife shot

The visitors centre had a giant snakes and ladders with velcro attatched to the wall and big cloth dice - Jean loved it though we did have a minor tiff about returning the dice to the little room were the game was!
