Last weekend as always was a busy one - but one that did happen to run a bit more smoothly than last weekend. We had yet another wedding to go to - Ella and Olivers from uni. I was a bit nervous as I thought we were having to go by trian and stuff and I had the wedding favours (the little presants of sugared almonds etc.. that the bride gives to the guests.) which I'd spent the last three days making after a load of hassel over losing the origonal stuff in the floods.
Fortunatly Charlee lent us her car which was a bit of a releif as we were going on to Gloucestershire after the wedding and didnt really fancy having to do that by public transport!
The wedding was lovely and there are already photos of it up on flicker so go and have a look 🙂 Apart from that we zoomed back to Gloucestershire for the village feast and to see Als Cousin and their family who were visiting Barabara.
Poor Al had decided that becuase we hadn't had the last Cub and Scouts of the year becuase of the flooding none of them would know to come in uniform so we decided not to go in uniform to the multi-denomial service held in the grave yard. And just becuase he was looking tired and scruffy he ended up carrying the village banner with its stags head emblazoned on it, at the head of the traditional procession up from the church, across the common and into the cricket club for teas and cakes.
We then organised the childrens sports (pickeled onion and spoon races - we didn't have any eggs ok) whilst the bell ringers held a minni cincert. Then the red barrows gave a sterling performance of formation wheel barrow sterring with coloured smoke and everything 🙂
This was actually lots and lots of fun 🙂 I will be posting photos soon I hope 🙂 We left the kids with a football and headed back to London exhusted.
The Wiggly pets have finially got round to proding me about the community blog I promised them about 2 years ago!
Its been running for a few weeks now 🙂
What do people think of it?

First off the flood damage was a liddle more extensive than we had realised, secondly it turned out there has been some confusion over the insurance in that Barbara had apparently started a claim also for the Bakary contence 🙁
We didn't realise she had contence insurance and it was only becuase it was the same company that came to deal with us as my insurance had said was coming that this became apparent.
We realised something was up when we'd just sent the guy off with an excess cheque and checked our paper work to discover that we had already paid automatically on oour policy - a quick phone calll/emial later and the mistake of two claims became apparent. Then come to the explaining to Barbara that it doesn't matter that a couple of bits of furniture were her's there can't be two claims for the same thing.
Unfortunatly all the assessment that went ahead this morning was on her policy which she has since cancelled - so we're waiting to her from the company (as its the same one both insuriers use) as to weather they have to come out and do exactly the same thing again 🙁
Also apparently Barbara is upset that we have decided to get rid of the bed setee even though the matrice got absolutely sodden and it smells quiet bad.
Then too the insect bits - me and Alaric are absolutely covered in them and they are painful and every time we turn round there are more of them. We think its becuase there is now bright sunshine and lots of festy water about for them to breed in - we are considering moving into the tent!
I'm afraid I did get very annoyed when after sorting all this insurance out the guy to fix the waterfall tunnel turned up and in moving the furniture without checking Barbara managed to destroy one of the glasses my friend Helen got us for our wedding. It would be one of a set wouldn't it :'(
Feeling quiet drained I sorted out our clothes for a wedding we are attending at the weekend and then went for a lay down were a cat proceeded to diarrhia on me - Hydrogen had been unlocatable when the decontamination spray was being done and they warned us it can upset cats tummys at bit but isnt harmful. But I repeat - she did this ON ME!!!!
So all in all I personally am not having a very good day.
The builder has just left and we now have a tinsy winsy little problem - the floor has probably got to come up, the plaster striped from the walls and all the kitchen units ripped out - so no working sink etc... This is all going to take a long time.
What we could really do with is some storage space - we have books, kitchen stuff, Jean toys etc... you know all that small stuff you have on shelves etc...
Just to be really cheeky and impose ourselves on our friends I am asking if people could store like one box each of our stuff? This is mainly so that we can get a useful bedroom back for Jean 🙁
When I say the floor needs to come up - I mean they need to drill out concrete as the sealent was in shreds and its sucked up nasty water.
Wish I hadn't almost finished unpacking yet 🙁
I've had two falls in two days - the first was on Wednesday Al was mucking about with the spring and I felt we needed to get on with tidying the house up so I decided to go back the longer but slightly easier way across the field rather than through the barb wired fence.
this turned out to have been a bit of a mistake as half way across the filed there is normally a little boggy patch - said patch was now a little stream which me being me, still tried to get across - whilst wearing sandles. As predicted I sank up to my knee in filthy cow juice water and fell over in the bog. Sigh.
Then today I was out in the stable rotating the luandary when I hard a loud crash from the house - fearing that somehting horrible had happened to Al I ran out of the stable only to go skidding on the gravel landing hard on my right hand and hip, somehow I also managed to highly graze my left knee - not entirely sure how I managed this nor how comes I ended up laying on my back in the pouring rain with Al standing above me asking if I was all right looking a bit panicky.
Grrr... and ouch is all I'm gonna say and that this is going to make waxing my legs for the weekend interesting :/
