Geologist Running Scared (by )

Ok so I'm still awake - brain active, thinking too much again - this is not good for the worlds general population especially if I start looking at the news and see just how we are screwing things up even more - sigh.

Why do I have insomnia?

Is it becuase I've had issues being cleared health wise to go back to college and have told them so and am waiting for the response - waiting to find out if I can do any geology this yr or wheather I will be sitting out on the bench in the cold yet again 🙁

Is it becuase I feel I've let people down - I have samples sitting there waiting for me, people have gone out of their way to help me, I want to be an astrobiologist dam it! I have impact lithologies waiting I have theories to investigate - I feel that I have also let mankind down in some odd way - maybe some discovery is hunged on my work - maybe one of the samples I have is important? I'm not saying I would make the discovery mearly that me having my mitts on the samples means that they are not currently being investigated when they may hold valuable info. But then again I know that there was a shortage of people to do the dog work 🙁

So whats the plan now - I really dont know - that probably explain why yet again I am buring the candle dead into the night :'(

I think I have geology withdrawal! Today I saw some mica glinting at me and lots of feldspar - I had to fight the instinct to drop to the gound to investigate the kurb of someones garden - I suspect the rocks/blocks came from scotland - sigh.

Maths keeps calling me too... I find my self wondering about how things work ie pooters then I start asking Al questions then I start getting itchy to do some maths - unfortunatly I'm still looking for my maths stuff - it must be still lurking in a box somewhere. In desperation I started working out sequence stuff - but couldnt remember so had to make up my own notation - I dont think stars and moons and hearts really cut the mustard 🙁

I can feel my brain shriverlling up from the lack of science - how do 'normal' people cope without it?

On the plus side Jean has the making of a 'proper' geologist! The first thing she did when placed on the grass near the gravel road - was to pick up a stone, examin it, turning it this way and that, waking it on the other stones to check for hardness and trying to determine its streak by 'drawing' with it - then the altermate sign of a 'proper' geologist - she tasted the sample!

(unfortunatly at this juncter I had to take the sample away from her which resulted in tears - no geologist likes having their samples confiscated!)

Sorry Guys! (by )

Yet again I have been a bad blogger 🙁

I have been ill and pre-occupied with the many interesting things that decide to happen to us - I actually have several posts waiting to go live that were written ages ago now - sigh.

I'm suffering insomnia so I might sort them out now - or I might write some fresh stuff - who knows - I might even just fall asleep!

A weekend away (by )

Ok this post has been hanging around to long now - I will endevour to sort phots out later - this is going live like it or not!

Two weekends ago now lots of fun stuff happened which never got blogged about due to the 'jinx' stuff so I thought I'd best catch up on writting about it 🙂

First off there was Thursday, after the business stuff was done and sealed in London, we went to Charlee's perants house to meet up with her and Andy as me and Jean hadnt made it into zone one due to the heat! This was a very pleasant evening were I got given a wonderful purple top with sparkly beads and got to take photos of more cats! Plus I was impressed with the techno garden set up 🙂

Jean really loved it 🙂

Friday was the Front Wire Summer party in Guilford - so off me and Al went to that, it was another nice day with the added bonus of the trapoline!

I found some strange statues in the garden called Paul, Al and Seth!

I was very happy at this party surrounded by geeks doing sport!

Saturday saw us in Romford market buying stupid quantities of bombay mix! as we havent found anywhere that even comes near the fruit and nut stall. We also bought all the prizes for the village feast tomboler whilst we were at it. Then off into London again to meet up with people - a loo stop at Ikea which closes at midnight! resulted in me getting the alien rainbow knives, forks and spoons I saw at the beginning of the pregnancy and wanted to wean Jean with 🙂 I still cant imagine who would desperatly need furniture at 11 at night though?!

Sunday saw my Dad's thing at Rainham Methodist church were Jean made some friends! Followed by a flyby visit to more friends and a charity tea and cake session. (sorry this is probably boring to anyone whos not family). Then of course we picked Mini up and had a lovely everning with Earl and Rime - they have a great roof space where you can see loads of London with funky pigeons and pipes everywhere 🙂

Mini starting to be less shy (by )

Mini is tending to come out and wondere around more - I have managed to comb her twice - she loved this and purs like a mad thing! Al however is the person of favour with her and me - well she bites me :'( This cat has taken a disliking to me, I'm not sure if its becuase the kittens upset her and then hide behind me or that I end up telling her off lots ie when she claws the setee or becuase I had to turf her of a cake box earlier etc...

I'm hopeing this situation will improove - she mostly lets me stroke her if I let her sniff me first and all the rest of that sort of jazz but just radomly she turns and bites me 🙁 - Oh well at least Al curries favour! (I had to resist writting flavour there!)

Sigh (by )

Well thanks to todays excapade I havent done any sorting of the kitchen after the last flood 🙁 Plus we had to move the drying out pool so that the grass wouldnt be squashed tomorrow for mowing. This was a pain as the dew had already settled by the time we arrived home so the thing is now draped over our car drying out. In the process of moving it I managed in true Sarah and Al style, to tread on a rather large ground thistle 🙁

Its all just getting too much now - if this is a curse or jinx (yes, unlickly/scientifically lame idea) then who eveer is doing it should bear in mind some fundimental laws of nature - ie equal and opposite reaction - you dont get 'free energy' etc... This is represented in many religions under different names such as the three fold law or karma or getting your come-upenence!

Ok strange spiritural rant over.

Sigh - I'd probably better start the hoovering and stuff 🙁
